2. Melbourne Market Super Saturdays, Epping

When: Every Saturday from 31 January to late April 2026, 8.30am–1.30pm
Where: Melbourne Market, 315 Cooper Street, Epping VIC 3076
Getting there: Train to Epping Station, then bus 357 or 577 to Cooper Street, or drive and enter via Gate 1. Free on-site parking is available.

For the first time, Melbourne’s wholesale market is open to the public. Melbourne Market Super Saturdays offers bulk fresh fruit, vegetables and flowers sold direct from growers and wholesalers at wholesale prices. Expect peak-season produce, great value, and a lively market atmosphere, with food trucks, coffee and free face painting for kids.

To round out the experience, there are food trucks serving brunch and lunch favourites, coffee on hand, and free face painting for kids, giving the morning a relaxed, family-friendly feel. It’s a rare chance to see where Melbourne’s food supply begins – and to shop it like the professionals do.

3. Woodend Lions Community Market

When: First Saturday of the month, 9am–1pm
Where: High Street, Woodend VIC 3442
Getting there: V/Line train from Southern Cross to Woodend (approx. 1 hour), then a short walk.

A classic country Saturday market with a community feel. Think handmade soaps, fresh bread, bric-a-brac, and friendly chats with locals under the gum trees.

4. Slow Food Farmers Market

When & Where:

  • West Footscray (WeFo): 1st Saturday, 9am–1pm – Barkly Village Precinct
  • Spotswood: 2nd Saturday, 9am–1pm – Spotswood Kingsville RSL
  • Edgewater (Maribyrnong): 3rd Saturday, 9am–1pm – Pipemakers Park
