Enchanted Adventure Garden, Arthurs Seat: A Nature-Play Wonderland

Nestled high in the hinterland of Arthurs Seat on Victoria’s Mornington Peninsula, Enchanted Adventure (formerly known as the Enchanted Maze Garden) is a 25-acre outdoor wonderland blending gardens, puzzles, play, and adrenaline.

Whether you’re visiting as a family, with friends, or as a nature-lover seeking a playful escape, this attraction offers a refreshing balance of adventure and relaxation. Here’s how to make the most of your day.

What to Expect: Enchanted Adventure Garden

Landscapes & Gardens

Begin your visit by wandering through more than 20 themed gardens, lush sculptures, boardwalks, and topiary mazes. The gardens are both a visual delight and a way to slow the pace before diving into more active experiences.

Hedge Mazes & Brain Teasers

Navigate your way through multiple hedge mazes, including classic layouts, turf mazes, and whimsical puzzle gardens. These are ideal for all ages and great for family teamwork – though, as Diane discovered, you might not find all the Buddhas before you get delightfully lost.

Tube Slides

One of the biggest draws is the Tube Slides, where riders glide down slopes in inflatable tubes. There are several options with twisty and straight runs. It’s fast, fun and suitable for kids and adults alike – one of those simple joys that brings out the child in everyone. This is free with general admission.

Tree Surfing (High Ropes / Canopy Courses)

For thrill-seekers, Tree Surfing offers aerial obstacle courses through the forest canopy – with suspended bridges, tunnels, zip lines, and rope challenges. There’s a Grand Course for adults and confident teens, and a Nippers Course designed for younger adventurers. There is an additional cost and sessions must be booked in advance as numbers are limited.

Big Zip

The Big Zipline is one of the park’s most thrilling features, sending you soaring over the gardens and lake for over 300 metres of pure exhilaration. This is part of the Tree Surfing experience mentioned above.

Canopy Walk & Sky Scramble

For a gentler experience, stroll the Canopy Walk – a network of elevated walkways offering treetop views. For kids, the Sky Scramble provides climbing nets, tunnels and rope walks, designed especially for those under 135 cm. These experiences are available as part of general admission.

Café & Picnic Spots

When it’s time for a break, the on-site café serves light meals, coffee, and snacks, with beautiful views over the park. You can also bring your own picnic – there are plenty of shady spots and tables throughout the grounds (though BBQs aren’t permitted).

Diane’s review of Enchanted Adventure Garden

Our next adventure was the Enchanted Garden in the hinterland of Arthurs Seat, and it was just that – enchanting.

We knew we were in for a treat from the start, seeing the amazing sculptured hedge at the entrance. Once inside, we ventured into the hedged maze trying to find the five Buddhas – unfortunately we only found three before we got lost!

There are 20 themed gardens that are meticulously tended to, and over 30 beautiful sculptures from artists in many mediums including metal, glass and timber. There are wonderful areas for children too, with a fairy garden and a large slide you go down in a tube – that looked like such fun!

They have a lovely café overlooking the whole area. We had a wonderful day on the Mornington Peninsula and highly recommend a visit.

Tips for Planning Your Visit

Book ahead: Especially for Tree Surfing or Big Zip sessions.

Arrive early: To beat queues at the Tube Slides and enjoy the park at a slower pace.

Allow time: I’d plan for 3 to 5 hours to explore comfortably.

Dress for comfort: Closed-toe shoes are required for aerial activities.

Check height/age limits: Some attractions have restrictions. The Sky Scramble activity has a height restriction of 135cm.

Visiting with kids: Children as young as 3 years can ride the Tube Slides, however, under 5’s are asked to ride alongside parents in a double tube. Children under 135cm that wish to ride alone can ride the Kids Slide. Tree Surfing is an extra cost.

Weather: Most activities are outdoors; bring sun protection or a rain jacket.

Hydrate: Bring a water bottle – refill stations are available.

Make a Day of It: The Farmer’s Lunch Package

If you’re looking for a full Mornington Peninsula experience, the Farmer’s Lunch Package pairs a day of wonder at Enchanted Adventure with a relaxed farm-to-plate lunch at Green Olive at Red Hill.

Start your visit wandering through Enchanted Adventure’s landscaped gardens, hedge mazes and seasonal displays. There’s plenty to explore at your own pace — from sculptural surprises tucked among the paths to the popular Tube Slides and gentle Canopy Walk. It’s an easy way to spend a few hours outdoors, reconnecting with nature and enjoying time with family or friends.

After your morning of exploring, head over to Green Olive, just a short drive away. Set on a picturesque edible landscape overlooking vineyards and a duck-filled dam, it’s the kind of spot where you instantly slow down. Your package includes two gourmet grazing platters, featuring produce grown onsite, plus a glass of estate wine, craft beer or cider for each guest. You’ll finish with your choice of farm-made dessert and a freshly roasted coffee or loose-leaf tea — all enjoyed with peaceful views of the farm.

Cost: $230 for two people.

It’s a lovely way to round out your day: a little adventure, a little indulgence, and a lot of fresh Peninsula air.
