Celebrate summer with a day at CherryHill Orchards, just an hour’s drive from Melbourne. Open daily from 9 am to 5 pm during the cherry-picking season (mid-November to early Jan), it’s a simple yet delightful experience for all ages.
CherryHill has two locations in the stunning Yarra Valley: Coldstream and Wandin East. Coldstream boasts a 100-acre orchard with picnic areas, a café, and a retail shop surrounded by rolling hills. Wandin East features an 85-acre orchard with lush gardens and a charming farm gate store. Both locations promise fresh cherries, scenic landscapes, and a relaxing day out.
The Experience: Cherry Picking Melbourne
The fun begins as soon as you step into the orchard. With a bucket in hand, wander the rows of trees, picking and sampling sweet, sun-ripened cherries. The friendly staff show you how to twist and pull the cherries off the branches, ensuring you get the best fruit.
CherryHill Orchards offers all-you-can-eat cherries as part of the entry fee. Pay extra for the cherries you want to take home, sold by the kilogram.
Remember to bring sunscreen, a hat, and comfortable shoes—there’s plenty to explore!

You pay an entry fee to attend the orchard site and pick cherries, where you can eat as many as you want while you pick. Takeaway cherries are charged per kilogram upon leaving, at a reasonable market price. The quality is phenomenal!

CherryHill Orchards are accessible for visitors with mobility needs, offering level pathways and easy-to-navigate facilities. They provide accessible parking, wide pathways for wheelchairs and strollers, and all-gender, ambulant toilets with baby changing facilities.
During cherry-picking season, shuttle buses and all-terrain vehicles assist guests in navigating the orchards. The venue accommodates those with sensory needs by offering quiet areas and recommends visiting during weekdays for a more peaceful experience. Carers accompanying individuals with disabilities receive free entry, and discounts are available for concession cardholders. Additionally, the orchard uses the National Relay Service for communication and provides information through the Vacayit app, which offers audio content and transcripts.
Getting There
Located about an hour from Melbourne, CherryHill Orchards is best accessed by car, with plenty of parking available. The drive through the Yarra Valley is an experience in itself, offering stunning views along the way.
