I’ve stayed at Novotel Melbourne South Wharf twice now while attending events at the Convention Centre, and it really has become my go-to. The location couldn’t be more convenient — you simply walk out the door and you’re right there, with DFO next door if you fancy a browse between sessions.
Both times, my room was spotless with very comfortable beds and those lovely views across the city that make the stay feel a bit special. The breakfasts are excellent too; a generous spread, fresh options and plenty of space to sit and enjoy it without feeling rushed.
What really stands out, though, is the staff. Every encounter I’ve had has been warm, helpful and genuinely delightful, from check-in to the restaurant. Parking is also easy, with the DFO carpark right next door.
Overall, it’s a relaxed, reliable and extremely well-located place to stay — I’ll happily book again.

Location was perfect for where we needed to go. It was only a short walk from the ferry terminal. Buffet brekky was included in our room price, which was lovely to wake up and not have to go searching for a Café. Staff were happy to hold our luggage when we first arrived in Melbourne, so we could go explore. They also gave us a call when our room was ready for check-in. They were all so friendly and really made our stay a pleasure. Will definitely be back!

An outstanding stay – modern, spacious rooms with terrific views of the city. The location is ideal, right next to the Melbourne Convention & Exhibition Centre, yet a peaceful walk from the CBD. The hotel gym is excellent. High-speed wi-fi and friendly service seal the deal – will definitely stay again.

The staff were very accommodating, from check-in through to check-out. I was able to store my bags post-check-out before heading to the airport. The gentleman downstairs at the concierge desk was very friendly! I loved my room, I was placed in a high floor with a view upon request. The food via room service was really good and convenient. This is my second stay with Novotel South Wharf, and I would continue to stay here in the future.

Cleanliness, wonderful aroma. The staff were so helpful and made our stay lovely. The restaurant had a lovely feeling, and the food was amazing; the staff couldn’t do enough. The reception staff member at check-in explained everything so well. Will be coming back again to stay.
