The milestone season kicked off with stage star David Hobson on 3 Feb, and continues with a diverse mix of performances.
Darren Coggan – Monday 3 March 2025
Darren Coggan takes the stage on Monday 3 March, bringing his heartfelt Campfire show to Hamer Hall.
“It’s a great privilege, when you think about all the incredible performers who have graced that venue over the last 40 years, to be honouring them and included amongst that roll call of talent,” he says.
Set against the backdrop of the Australian bush, Campfire is a nostalgic, feel-good singalong featuring classics from James Taylor, The Beatles, John Denver, Glen Campbell, and Cat Stevens, as well as Darren’s own songs.
“These songs are like bookmarks in our lives—they evoke memories and personal connections. I want the audience to walk away feeling uplifted,” he shares.
Adding to the family atmosphere, Darren’s daughter, Olivia Coggan, will join him on stage for a special duet, including a song she wrote for his 50th birthday.

With classic tunes like “Splish Splash,” “Will You Love Me Tomorrow?” and “You’ve Lost That Lovin’ Feelin’,” Simply BRILL blends history, humour, and heart in a lively tribute to one of music’s most influential decades.

Morning Melodies at Hamer Hall
David Hobson was wonderful and very entertaining. I was thrilled to see him perform in person, only having seen him on Carols by Candlelight before where I first got to hear his great voice. He was very engaging with the audience, including lots of humour. His accompanying band was amazing as well and it’s such a privilege to hear live music like this.
Love this venue, very stylish. It can be a little confusing but lots of helpful, friendly ushers to show you the way. The seats in the theatre are very comfortable.
I thoroughly enjoyed this Morning Melody, leaving with a smile on my face and thinking I will be back to see some other artists. Just delightful to be able to experience these entertainment gems. Only now I’m retired I’m discovering all the amazing things the City of Melbourne has to offer.
