Lunch at Sushi Hub Melbourne: Fresh, Tasty & Affordable

Sushi Hub, a beloved sushi franchise in Australia, has been winning hearts and taste buds since its humble start in 2006. From one small store in Cabramatta, NSW, it has blossomed into a network of nearly 200 locations across the nation. And we can understand why.

We ventured to Sushi Hub Melbourne Central for a sushi lunch that promised to be healthy, tasty, and affordable. The atmosphere was vibrant, with plates of sushi gliding past on a conveyor belt, each one a tantalising invitation to indulge.

Sushi Hub stands out as a top lunch spot with its high-quality sushi, comfortable booth seating, convenient locations, and engaging sushi train setup.

Having lunch at the Sushi Hub was deliciousness!  We chose to sit on stools along the Sushi Train bench because i love seeing all the plates going past and plucking one off that i think looks inviting.  So of course many were plucked off as there is so much to choose from.  We did also order some other things off the menu as well.

Such a fun way to have lunch with family, the space was a tiny bit crowded but we were very comfortably seated.  I’m definitely going again on another trip to Melbourne.

The Sushi Hub Menu

The Sushi Hub menu offers a wide variety of options, ensuring there’s something for everyone. From traditional nigiri and sashimi to creative rolls and vegetarian options, each dish is crafted with care and precision.

You can pick and choose from the sushi train, or order from the dine-in menu via an iPad at each table.

One standout dish was the salmon and avocado roll, a perfect balance of creamy and fresh flavours. Another highlight was the tuna nigiri, with its melt-in-your-mouth texture and rich taste.

For those with a sweet tooth, there are dessert options like mochi and matcha-flavoured treats. Full from all the delicious sushi, we’ll have to leave room to try dessert next time!

How Does Sushi Train Dining Work?

Sushi chefs place freshly made sushi plates (with a lid) on a conveyor belt that moves past diners, allowing them to pick and choose their desired dishes as they pass by. Each plate is colour-coded or priced by type, making it easy for diners to enjoy a variety of sushi at their own pace.

At the end of your meal, the waitstaff come by to calculate your empty plates!

Rigorous Training for Exceptional Quality

An interesting fact we learned was about how Sushi Hub maintains such high standards across its numerous locations. The secret lies in their rigorous chef training program.

Every chef undergoes at least twelve months of intensive training, mastering the art of sushi-making before they take charge of an outlet. This ensures that each Sushi Hub store, whether it’s a takeaway location or a dine-in sushi train, delivers consistent quality.

Perfect for Families and Groups

If you’re planning a family outing, Sushi Hub is an excellent choice. The casual, bustling atmosphere is welcoming, and the variety on the menu means that even the pickiest eaters will find something to enjoy.

The sushi train setup is particularly engaging for kids, who will love watching the plates go by and picking their favourites.

A Delicious and Affordable Option

One of the best aspects of Sushi Hub is its affordability. Despite the high quality of the sushi, the prices are very reasonable. This makes it a great option for both a quick lunch and a leisurely dinner.

The sushi train allows you to control your portions and budget, making it easy to enjoy a satisfying meal without overspending.
