Getting Started
To begin, click on any white cell in the crossword grid. The cursor will appear, and the corresponding clue will be displayed in the top and right panels.
Navigating the Crossword
Using the Keyboard
- Use the Arrow Keys to move around the grid.
- Press the Space Bar to switch between Across and Down clues.
Using the Mouse
- Click on any white cell to select a clue. Click again to switch direction.
- Select clues from the right-side clue panel to jump to that word in the grid.
- Use the left (◄) and right (►) arrows in the top clue panel to move to the previous or next clue.
Filling in Answers
- Type your answer, and the cursor will move automatically to the next square.
- Incorrect letters will appear in red.
- To correct a letter, move the cursor to the cell and type a new letter.
- Use Backspace or Delete to remove incorrect letters only.
Need Help?
- Click Reveal Letter or Reveal Word to show the correct answer for the selected letter or word.
Scoring System
- Your starting score is 100%.
- The score decreases with mistakes or when using the reveal feature.
- Score reduction is proportional to the total number of letters in the puzzle.
- Example: A puzzle with 150 letters will lose points for each mistake or revealed letter. If 7 mistakes and 8 reveals are made, the score becomes 90% (100 × (150 – 7 – 8) / 150).
Advanced Navigation
- Use Tab and Shift + Tab to move forward or backward one word at a time.
- Correct words are skipped automatically.
- Combine with the Space Bar for quick orientation switching.
Switching Puzzles
- Seven new puzzles are available daily.
- Use the dropdown menu on the top control panel to select a different puzzle.
