Looking for one of the most unique dessert places in Melbourne CBD?
Tucked away inside the Midcity Centre on Bourke Street, Regretless – Low Carb Pleasure is a unique Melbourne cafe worth finding. Whether you’re gluten-free, diabetic, keto-curious or just want something sweet without the sugar crash, this clever little low carb café delivers indulgence without regret.

Regretless: A Hidden Low-Carb Haven in the City
We stumbled across Regretless during a recent wander through Melbourne’s CBD, and what a discovery it was. Located at Shop 13–14 inside the Midcity Centre (200 Bourke Street), it’s easy to miss if you’re not looking – but once you spot it, the colourful display of sugar-free sweets will draw you right in.
This welcoming gluten free café in Melbourne CBD is the city’s first dedicated low-carb, gluten-free and diabetes-friendly dessert spot.
While they do serve savoury dishes like chaffles and stuffed waffles, the real stars are in the sweets cabinet – a haven for anyone seeking gluten free cakes in Melbourne that taste as good as they look.

Terrie’s Take: One Visit Isn’t Enough
A surprising find in the city! Regretless is tucked away in a walk-through arcade at the Midcity Centre. It’s a low-carb, gluten-free and diabetes-friendly café, and it’s absolutely worth hunting down.
While they do offer savoury items, I couldn’t go past the sweets cabinet – everything was no sugar and no gluten! It was so hard to choose. Between the three of us, we shared the purple yam crepe cake (absolutely delicious), the burnt basque matcha cheesecake and a jumbo panna cotta.
Average price was $10 – and of course we had coffee too. I’d love to go back and try more of the amazing sweets on offer.
– Terrie

What to Try at Regretless Melbourne
If you’re unsure where to start, here are a few of our recommendations based on what we tasted:
Purple Yam (Ube) Crepe Cake – Soft, creamy and lightly sweetened. A standout. Multi-layered delights in flavours like purple yam (ube), pandan coconut, and Thai tea, catering to both vegan and gluten-free diets.
Burnt Basque Matcha Cheesecake – Earthy, rich and beautifully balanced. A creamy delight with flavours like matcha, yuzu sea salt, and black sesame, each with approximately 2–3g of carbs per slice.
Jumbo Panna Cotta – Wobbly perfection, especially with a long black or flat white on the side.

Other Menu Highlights
We also asked our community for their favourites, and it’s clear the menu has plenty of crowd-pleasers. The peanut butter brownie came up more than once – rich, fudgy, and dairy-free.
Several readers recommended the chaffles, the savoury waffle-like creations offering a satisfying low-carb meal. Especially the kimchi chicken and beef sauerkraut varieties for a savoury twist.
The crepe cakes in pandan coconut and Thai tea flavours are also popular picks, praised for their texture and presentation. It’s the kind of place where you could try something different each visit and still walk away impressed.
Most treats are under 3 grams of carbs per serve and made with natural sugar substitutes, making them suitable for keto diets and diabetics alike. If you’re after a truly inclusive gluten free cake shop in Melbourne, this one ticks all the boxes – flavourful, creative, and beautifully presented.
Additionally, Regretless café offers a selection of beverages, including specialty teas and coffees, designed to complement their dessert offerings.

Sip Something Different
Don’t overlook the drinks menu – it’s just as thoughtfully curated as the food. Alongside some of the usual coffees and teas, Regretless offers a range of low-carb, sugar-free beverages that pair perfectly with their desserts.
We tried the ube iced latte, which was lightly sweet, creamy, and full of that distinctive purple yam flavour – refreshing and unlike anything we’d had before.
Other options include matcha, Thai milk tea, and creative coffee alternatives, many made with plant-based milks and low-carb sweeteners.

Dine In or Takeaway
Regretless has a cosy dine-in area with a few comfortable tables if you’d like to sit down and savour your treat. It’s perfect for a relaxed catch-up or a quiet coffee break, though it’s worth noting there is a small step up into the seating area.
The counter and dessert cabinet are at ground level, making it easy to order or grab something to go.
